Welcome to the Intorduction to Religion 004 class: Introduction to Judaism and Christianity.website for Rabbi Chorny's This site is designed to aid in your preparation and studies for the course. 

  Course Description:

This is not a “religion class,” but rather a “class on religion” offering, through the study and analysis of classical religious texts, in their original historical and literary context; a general introduction to the history, philosophy and ideology of Judaism and Christianity,

Students will be expected to understand the underlying principles of each religion, as well as the impact each one has had on the development of what is currently labeled as the “Judeo-Christian” tradition.

Assignments: This area contains detailed explanations for each of the required components of the coures: Personal Statements, Mid-term, Research paper and Final exam. In addition, it lists expectations, texts and grading policy for the class.

Study Material: Special Study material will be posted prior to the midterm and final to aid students in their preparation for the tests.

Announcements: The instgructor will periodicly post special announcements of importance and interest to the class. This is where students will find out if classes have been cancelled due to bad weather, make-up sessions, etc. Please look at this sectin on a weekly basis. New information or announcements are normally posted on Monday and Wednesday evenings.
